Heat storage is any means of storing heat for
release later. It is usually achieved by
using materials that undergo phase changes,
eg: Glauber's salt and sodium pyrophosphate,
which melts at 70°C (158°F). The latter is
used to store off-peak heat in the home: the
salt is liquefied by cheap heat during the
night and then freezes to give off heat
during the day.
